    Very insightful! As a French speaker, I have never really dived into the meaning behind the song. Stromae is indeed a very talented artist.

    Thank you a lot for your translation and analysis! I’m very fond of “Racine carree” for years, but with only basic knowledge of french it’s difficult to understand fully the meaning and word plays of Stromae’s complexe lyrics.

    These lyrics feel wrong at times. “On est bleu de lui, seulement pour 48 heures” does not mean “the sky is blue,” it means that we only like it for 48 hours, a bit like buying something cool and then forgetting about it after a bit.

    I think “On en devient fêlé, et on finit solo” is more about how you become obsessed with social media, not about going crazy.

    It might help to review a few of these lyrics, since there are more errors like this… I appreciate the meaning behind the name of the song though!
