  1. […] Have you ever heard of Coeur de Pirate, the Quebec-native who has the most lovely voice and sings in French? I once saw her perform at the Apple store in Montreal, in September of 2009 and she was so lovely. I love her song “Comme des enfants” (see video here and lyrics, and English translation, here). […]

Yes thank you! I still love this song years later. Coeur de Pirate has continued to be successful, and I’m so pleased to see a Canadian artist doing so well abroad! 🙂

Thank you for the translation and the explanation in English. Sometimes literal translation do not carry the emotion enough to truly understand. I found this on iTunes. I just clicked here and there, and was instantly mesmerized by the rhythm and the voice. I don’t understand French, but feelings are universal. Again, thank you.

  4. I started studying French two years ago on my own through the internet just because of this song. Now, you can say I’m fluent. I’m just finishing my DELF B1 in Alliance Française. Now, it’s ALL because of THIS SONG.

C’est LA MEILLEUR CHANSON DE MA VIE.

Wow that’s amazing – congratulations! It takes a lot of commitment and study to get to B1! I also love this song, and I saw Coeur de Pirate perform it live in Vancouver many years ago. I still love it to this day. 🙂
